Bronto held our first Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament on Thursday, July 30th. Over 15 Brontos stayed late that eventing to compete for $25 gift card to nearby Tyler’s Taproom.
Other than the winning gift card, Brontos played with chips, not cash. Brontos also enjoyed chips in the form of potato chips, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, sodas, bagel bites, and beer – a great selection of poker worthy food. This after-work-hours event encouraged some healthy competition and social fun.
Of the 15 participants, many stayed for over 3 hours battling out their poker hands. In the end, it was a duel between Director of Partner Sales, Darren “Takeda Slayer” Pierce, and Territory Sales Executive, Samantha “Bringing the Hurt” Hutzell. In the end, Darren showed his ultimate poker prowess and was declared outright winner by holding the most chips.
Holding an informal, but very competitive poker tournament is just one way to encourage cross-department interaction and promote good interpersonal relationships here at Bronto HQ. You can look forward to posts on similar activities in the future.
