Bronto and the Foos

Crowd Looks On

Bronto recently purchased a foosball table for the office.  The foosball table will be used to pass the time at lunch, or just an mid-afternoon lull in daily tasks.  However, with this new purchase means an inauguration, a christening of sorts.  So, last week (June 3rd – 5th), Bronto conducted the 1st Annual Bronto Foosball Tournament.

On Tuesday, the table was moved to a quiet, disclosed location in the office so that Brontos could practice as needed in anticipation of the tournament.  The same day, Brontos were randomly assigned a partner to compete in the tournament, as 16 teams jockeyed for World “of Bronto” championship.

The matches began Wednesday afternoon, and on this first day of competition they were fast paced with many bouts won by 4 to 5 goals (first team to 5 goals wins).

The second day of competition brought out intensity and more teamwork as only 8 teams remained.  Teams began to practice before the 3pm start time.  By Friday morning, 6 teams remained to fight for the coveted first, second, and third prizes ($50, $25, $10 gift certificates respectively to local restaurant and watering hole, Tyler’s).

With classic ballads like “The Final Countdown” and “Gonna Fly Now” energizing the final contenders, the last teams battled it out for several hours late Friday.  Who remained?

Second Place: Skip Mangum, Director of Account Management and Jameson Lopp, Software Engineer

Third Place: Darren Pierce, Director of Partners and Brad McGinity, Territory Sales Representative

So, here’s to the winners and all the Brontos who participated in this first annual tournament.  Look forward to many more tournaments to come!
